PMMSY Scheme 2020

PMMSY :Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to embark on a new scheme.  The new scheme is set to launch on Wednesday i.e. tomorrow.  Its name is Pradhan Mantri Matsa Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).  Along with this scheme, Modi is also going to make an app available.  Its name is e-Gopala app.  PMMSY is a scheme that the Modi government is bringing in with great ambition.  The scheme is being launched with the aim of providing a boost to the fisheries sector.  The central government has allocated Rs 20,050 crore for the five-year implementation of the scheme.  The scheme will be implemented from the financial year 2020-21 to the 2024-25 financial year.  The scheme will be implemented in all the States and Union Territories.


 Of the Rs 20,000 crore allocated by the Modi government, about Rs 12,340 crore will be spent on beneficiary-based activities in coastal areas, island fisheries and aquaculture.  About Rs 7,710 crore will be spent on fisheries infrastructure.  The central government is bringing in this new scheme with the aim of increasing fish production in the country.  The Center aims to increase fish production to 70 lakh tonnes from its current capacity by the 2024-25 financial year.  The Center also intends to increase fish export earnings to Rs 1 lakh crore.  The Modi government hopes to increase the income of fishermen as a whole.  In addition, the central government has set a target of providing employment to an additional 55 lakh people with investments in the fisheries sector through the new scheme.  Now a comprehensive breed development marketplace, information portal through the e-Gopala app.  The scheme will be launched in the form of a digital launch in Bihar.
